Access Engineering is a small consulting firm specializing in transportation engineering planning and
design. Formed in October, 1994, Access Engineering has amassed an impressive amount of experience
working on projects all over the state of Oregon. The firm has an impressive track record and years of
experience working on projects in both the public and private sectors. Access Engineering's diverse
project background enables it to solve complex problems quickly and accurately. Through its

in the fields of transportation planning, traffic engineering, traffic signal systems design, street lighting
design, traffic impact studies, trip generation, and access management.
Access Engineering has the experience and tools necessary to prepare traffic engineering studies ranging from traffic impact analyses for small developments to area-wide transportation system plans. Our projects include diverse elements such as trip generation and distribution, intersection analyses, safety studies, pedestrian/bicycle studies, air quality analyses, construction traffic control plans, and street alignments. Our staff includes personnel experienced in the design of traffic signals and street lighting as well as ODOT certified inspectors. Traffic studies and design services have been successfully conducted for both public agencies and private companies and developers. The firm has in depth experience in the application of complex microscopic traffic and transit simulation models such as VISSIM as well as macroscopic signal optimization programs such as TRANSYT-7F and SYNCHRO.

Michael Weishar, P.E., has more than 28 years of
transportation and traffic engineering experience in
both the public and private sectors. He is skilled in
transportation planning, traffic operations, and
environmental analysis with a special emphasis in
traffic signal design and the development of traffic
signal systems. Mr. Weishar has been responsible for
managing a broad range of transportation projects
from transportation planning studies to signal and
illumination designs for road improvement projects.
His recent projects include downtown refinement
plans for the coastal communities of Waldport and
Depoe Bay as well as a downtown beautification
project in Lebanon, Oregon. Prior to his experience in
consulting, Mr. Weishar served for eight years at the
City of Eugene as Assistant and then City Traffic
Engineer where he was responsible for all aspects of
traffic operations.
